Break Free of Low Paying Jobs

Of Low Paying Jobs

Highlights

During our courses you will learn theory; how to create and use graphics; when to use a spreadsheet and when to use a database.

Keyboarding

We used to call it typing, but whatever you call it – it’s a strong asset, very strong. All things being equal, the person with the fastest typing speed usually gets the job offer. Why? Credibility. People who can type fluently are assumed to be a person who is effective in an office setting. We practice an hour every day to improve our typing speed.

Like 4 Legs on a Table

The Microsoft Office® Suite of software packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, were designed to be used together.  We learn them together as a single package of tools.  Often a project will involve the use of two or more programs, as this is how they were designed for use.

Learning Environment

Students begin the day with a serving of hot old-fashioned oatmeal or have some fruit or coffee, then settle in for the day’s topic of discussion.  We don’t waste your time but get right into the day’s lesson with plenty of hands-on help so that you understand exactly what's going on.  Each step of each lesson is thoroughly explained in a calm, easygoing pleasant atmosphere.  Learn from practical projects taken from the real world.

Computer Literacy

Moving files around, getting in and our of programs, backing up, accessing other computers on the network, sending work to different printers, closing programs properly, multitasking, setting passwords – we make sure that you are comfortable with these common functions if you are unsure.

Variants

When you finish a project which teaches a collections of skill sets you may not be sure that you can use those same skill sets on another project. To make sure that you can, we offer several variant projects that employ the same skills under a different set of requirements each time until you are comfortable with the lessons that you have learned.

Continued Training

Every week we offer refresher evening classes free of charge to our graduates.  The programs that you learn are continually being improved.  After you graduate you are invited to come back in the evening and catch up on these changes.  At this time you may also request a review of material, which you may not have used for a while.  You may also ask advise on a particular project that you are working on and get additional direction to suit whatever kind of work you may find yourself involved with. It’s a good time to see old friends and catch up on shared opportunities.  We serve delicious turkey sandwiches on fresh bread with pickles and mayo (optional) to save your dinnertime.
