Prepare For A Real Job
There's no need to dim the lights. You will be pleased to find that each learning station is equipped with a monitor that duplicates the information displayed on the instructor's monitor. This system allows the student to follow instructions easily and comfortably without straining to see or hear the lesson.
The theme of our school is “Computers in the service of work and family”. On the walls of our main classroom hangs the complete works of the artists “Holmes”, “Linquist”, and “Hayes”. These three artists were chosen because all of their pictures are of common and ordinary work and family situations. In the same way that these pictures show how people support their families and work efforts with the tools of the day, so we hope to make our students as comfortable with the computer skills of graphics, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing, as they are with everyday kitchen wares and gardening tools.
As class begins in the morning we start cooking good old-fashioned oatmeal. About forty-five minutes later our students fill their bowls with great tasting oatmeal made with milk, brown sugar, maybe a dab of butter, raisons, or slices of bananas. It tastes great and gives us all a nice even flow of energy to get us through our daily studies. Smells good too. (Breakfast is optional of course). We also serve coffee and tea. A refrigerator and microwave are also available.

Good Nutritious Start

An Attractive Dimension
What do we do while here? We learn to produce information. Information is a product just as surely as is wheat for food, automobiles for transportation, lumber for houses, concrete for roadways, paper for books, or anything else that we use as people in our society. When you purchase a hamburger at fast food restaurant, information about the way you like to have your burger prepared, how much you were willing to pay, the scheduling of workers to serve you, how much overhead went into producing your hamburger, what advertising you responded to, and every other aspect of that goes into making money while providing you with lunch requires the production of information.
Whether we are eating lunch or planning a vacation, everything that happens in our modern world requires good information to continue successfully. See Courses to learn how we prepare you for this attractive dimension of the modern workforce.
You do not have to be a fast typist to get started. It is essential that our graduates be able to type at a rate of at least 40 words per minute – the faster the better. Toward that end we practice every day. We show you how to type correctly and monitor your progress on a weekly basis. You may need to practice more than the others. We have software that you may take home with you for additional practice time. You should have at least some typing experience before beginning our program – 15 to 20 words per minute would be fine if you are willing to work as hard as you need to in order to bring that speed up to 40 words per minute.

Practice For Proficiency

In our Learning Center you will find more detailed information about our school and how you can benefit.
Class times are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays – 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, optional till 3:00 pm. The courses are relaxed but businesslike because we do not want to waste time. You will be trained to use the computer to do practical business applications. This means more than just being able to pass a test to show that you understand the software concepts; you must also be comfortable with applying what you learned to practical business applications. In order to do this you will be guided through several business projects, each one different than the rest but with many of the same concepts used over and over again. In this way you will become comfortable with each application because you will have completed it several times with different variations each time.

Meadowmark course are designed to provide you the essential job skills required in the real world.
Benefit from a dramatic new concept in Job Placement – Your own employment ready web page.
Meadowmark has developed a whole new platform for our graduates to meet interested employers. Your job preferences, resume, references, background check, WOTC tax credit paperwork, and even a 20 minute first interview will be made available on the internet at Interviews On The Web. In this way, with the proper passwords, your encrypted job placement information will be conveniently available to any employer that either you or the school gives permission to have access to. You will be able to update this information directly to the web as your situation changes. This includes changes in your resume, changes in your phone number, changes in your references, your transportation capabilities, or whatever else you need to update as your situation changes.
Meadowmark prepares you do fully realize your value in the workplace and to come to a workable plan to market yourself to future employers. Year by year, month by month we review your past experiences. When you take the time to examine your experiences, you come to know just how much you have to offer an interested job interviewer. Our web-based interview is structured along the standard interview questions all interviewers ask during their first meeting. Ordinarily you must come up with good answers right there on the spot, but with your web interview you know the interview questions in advance. You study them and we help you plan what to say to what question so that as a result your web interview showcases your answers in their best possible light. You appear confident and knowledgeable, with intelligent appropriate answers to all of the questions.
Before publication of your interview to the web we produce your very own practice CD so that you can view yourself on your television at home from the interviewer’s point of view.
This preliminary run is your dress rehearsal! You make adjustments to your presentation and end up with the very best interview for your presence on the web. If an employer is busy you simply offer an employer id and a password, then say “When you have the time go to InterviewsOnTheweb.com where you will find all my background information, my job preferences, my background check, my tax credit information, my references, my resume, and even a standard 20 minute interview – all ready to go!” Do it once, do it right, then spend your job-hunting time more efficiently by introducing yourself to as many prospective employers as possible. Don’t waste time fussing with outdated background information and trying to schedule interviews with busy employers.
“Do It Once, Do It Right!”
